Kellie Beckenham is a proud Nganyaywana woman and a community pharmacist in the rural town of Casino, located on the country of the Bundjalung people in Northern New South Wales. Being born and raised in Tamworth and having always lived in a country town, apart from completing her Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Tasmania and an intern year in Darwin, has given Kellie a passion for rural health. Prior to moving to Casino, she was the owner of a pharmacy in the small town of Mungindi on the New South Wales and Queensland borders for 11 years. Kellie has recently become a Pharmacist Diabetes Educator in response to the overwhelming number of people living with diabetes who have trouble accessing specialist care in rural settings. Kellie sits on the CPRIA Advisory Committee as a community and Indigenous representative.
