Ben Basger provides medication management support to patients, nursing staff and doctors at Wolper Jewish Hospital, Sydney. Ben tutors and lectures in Pharmacy Practice at the University of Sydney and teaches continuing professional education to community pharmacy groups. In 1999, Ben was awarded the Hoeschst Marion Roussel medal of excellence in Pharmacy Practice and in 2003 was named Australian Pharmacist of the Year. Ben’s doctorate and current research interests focus on appropriate and inappropriate prescribing in older patients and the identification, resolution and prevention of medicine-related problems.
